The First Thanksgiving Story

Thanksgiving Day (Jour de l'Action de grâce in Canadian French) is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada. Thanksgiving has its historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, and has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well.

50th anniversary of DOCTOR WHO

Are you a fan of Doctor Who? Maybe, there are some things you don't know about his long-running TV series.
Doctor Who was first broadcast on BBC One at 5.15pm on Saturday November 23, 1963. Created as an educational family show to fit between the football results and evening entertainment programmes, Doctor Who was the brainchild of Canadian TV producer and BBC Head of Drama, Sydney Newman. When the First Doctor William Hartnell wanted to leave the series after three years, the idea of renewing their leading man was born.
After an initial run of 26 years, the series was rested. It returned for a one-off TV movie featuring the Eighth Doctor in 1996. Doctor Who was fully resurrected in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
In its 50th anniversary year, the series is watched by an estimated 80 million viewers in 206 countries. It has been honoured by Guinness World Records as both the longest running and most successful science-fiction series in the world.

Hurtful by Erik Hassle

"Hurtful" is the debut single by Swedish singer/songwriter Erik Hassle, taken from his album Hassle. He made his debut in his home country of Sweden almost cracking the Top 10 on the Swedish singles chart.
Erik said that he wrote this song when he went off to music college to pursue his dream and he had to leave a lot of his friends and family back home and he always felt bad about losing connection with them He wrote this song trying to say how bad he felt about it and he knew how hurtful it was for those people he kind of, for lack of better words, left behind.

What's up?

What's up? Would you say that to your parents or teachers? NO. It's not appropriate. Expressions like that are SLANG, very informal language. Below, you can watch a cartoon episode in which a hipster man is at the Pearly Gates explaining the story of his life to Saint Peter.
