The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree lights were switched on during a traditional ceremony this evening. Stian Berger Rosland, Governing Mayor of Oslo, switched on the lights in a ceremony hosted by the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Audrey Lewis. The tree is bigger and brighter than ever this year, measuring over 21 metres tall. It is decorated with 900 white LED lights and will stay lit until January 6.
What about in New York? Well,their Christmas tree is bigger than the one in London. It weighs approximately 13 tons, and it is 85-foot tall. This 90-year-old Norway Spruce is adorned with 45,000 energy efficient LED lights.
